Why does Blogger Suck?
Personally I have a hard time criticizing something that is free. If they untended it to be the best product on the planet, they probably would have a slightly different business model. But with that said, Google has a few dollars that they could invest in making Blogger, their free blog software, better.
They have made two significant updates in the past year/year and a half. First, they created a plug-in(?) for Microsoft Word that would allow you to post directly to Blogger. Second, they added a flag this blog button to the top of their blogspot hosted blogs so visitors could flag it as a spam blog or splog. Both of these seem pretty trivial.
So what would I like to see? I think fundamentally they need to add tags labels so you can categorize posts. And they need to add Trackback functionality. You can post and include a trackback URL but you can accept pings back - at least not that I know of. If anyone knows of a good way to do this let me know.
BTW, I know this blog is not a Blogger blog but I do use Blogger daily for two of my other blogs (yes two other blogs - thats a topic for another post).
