Maintaining Relationships in a Busy World

Dear Blogosphere, its been a week since  my last post…I know, I know, post less but post often.  This week has been tough with job priorities and responsibilities to find make the time to post.  Sitting down to write this post, I realized that this "life gets in the way" complaint is all too common.  Not just for blogging but for staying in touch with your friends from college, your parents or that key contact you made at your last monthly social event.

In the good old days, sales reps used to wine and dine a prospect, learn about their family and hobbies and spend as much time with them as possible.  But today, these prospects don’t have time for such niceties - hell, often time, these reps don’t have time for these niceties.  Similar to my complaint about my job getting in the way of blogging, business people have jobs that get in the way of this type of relationship building.  So how do these relationships get the attention they deserve?  Can software help manage these relationships?  After all, its much easier to attend a meeting that has been scheduled into your calendar then it is to set one up in the first place.  I’d be interested to hear if anyone out there in the blogosphere has tackled this issue.
